I'm packing my sunscreen, a couple of books and my passport. I'm off for another little vacation, OK maybe not so little but I'm outta here for a week. The Husband, The Little Miss, My Parental Units ( Mom and the dude she shacks up with) are heading to our neighbors to the south for beach vacation. We've rented a house, no TV, no Internet so I'll be a disconnected.
Since the guy that I wanted to win the election actually did win, we'll be heading back a week from Saturday. If that other guy won, we might have been tempted to stay.

- Big Girl
- I think of myself as though I'm a pretty typical hipster kinda gal. I feel like I'm younger than I am and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do when I grow up. For now, I'm working part-time "for the man," but more importantly, I'm a mom to a daughter, The Little Miss (TLM) and a wife to The Husband. We live in an area of the country where being anything bigger than a size 6 is considered unacceptably large and in a town where movie stars live. I've always been the Big Girl. Growing up it was because I was taller and "big boned." Now I'm the Big Girl because I'm fat. At one time I loved being the Big Girl but now, not so much. This blog is my way trying to be a part of a community that can help each other through our struggles to be who we really are. For me, it's still being a Big Girl just not of the fat variety.

Have a great trip - lots of activities there and fresh fish! I've been checking out your posts - so sorry about horrors of the fire - hope things get under control soon - still... so much damage. I'm in NoCal and it's dry all over. I look forward to more posts when you get back!
