Putting Things in Perspective

While out and about the other day, I was musing to myself and making up excuses why I wasn't going to go for my walk. I think the excuses ranged from, I have to go home and clean out my sock drawer to I'm just too damn lazy. When before me appeared a man in a wheelchair. That certainly made me think, how happy he would be if only he could take one step.

Why are we all complaining about something we can do when others don't even have the opportunity?

You are right. Sometimes seeing someone else in pain can really open up our eyes to things.

Good point. Thanks for the reminder. And thanks for commenting on my blog. I feel SO much better thinking that those calories don't count since I wasn't in the "real world". (Well, except for that peanut butter shake. That definitely involved real world stuff. Bummer...)

So true. I often catch myself when I am thinking, "my legs are so fat." I remind myself of the many people who have no legs, or no working legs, and cannot walk. And then I feel blessed to have them, fat and all.

How very true. I love it when I'm pondering something, particularly when I know it's a bad decision, and I get a sign (or coincidence) telling me what I should do. It never fails to make me stop whining and make the right choice.

I so agree. A friend of a friend decided last summer to dive off his boat..hit his head on something and is now paralyzed. I will never take being able to move for granted again!!

Thanks for saying this. It's the kind of thing that we all need to get ourselves in gear! I needed this today.

So true! I also like to think of me if I gained another XXXX # of pounds. What wouldn't I give then to take the chance that I have now! I really enjoy your blog~!
