Holy crap! I just got carded at Trader Joe's. Not bad for a 43 and 1/2 year old. I'm still laughing.
Updated after TJ's comment about how Trader Joe's "always" cards:
I shop at Trader's weekly and have for quite some time and can't remember the last time someone asked see my ID. Regardless, even if I look anything younger than my age, I'll take it, wouldn't you?

- I think of myself as though I'm a pretty typical hipster kinda gal. I feel like I'm younger than I am and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do when I grow up. For now, I'm working part-time "for the man," but more importantly, I'm a mom to a daughter, The Little Miss (TLM) and a wife to The Husband. We live in an area of the country where being anything bigger than a size 6 is considered unacceptably large and in a town where movie stars live. I've always been the Big Girl. Growing up it was because I was taller and "big boned." Now I'm the Big Girl because I'm fat. At one time I loved being the Big Girl but now, not so much. This blog is my way trying to be a part of a community that can help each other through our struggles to be who we really are. For me, it's still being a Big Girl just not of the fat variety.

not to make you feel bad, but Trader Joe's ALWAYS cards. The employees have to pay the fine themselves if they get caught selling to anyone underage so they ask everyone. Even when I am desperately in need of coloring my hair I get carded. lol

Yes ma'am, once we hit 40 you take any compliment, or I do. I don't get them as often as I used too.
Take 'em anyway you can get 'em. I got carded at a restaurant at age 51 - I think my waiter must've been doing it on a dare...that or my gray highlighs are much more fetching than I thought.
