Dear Little Miss,
I know I am really cynical about Disney and Disneyland, but I tried my hardest to not let my feelings get in the way of your experience. There’s so many things in life that can manipulate the way we see the world and ourselves. I really want you to find your way with as little big corporate influence as possible. I know that’s impossible, but your innocence is so important, I don’t want it to be tainted.
Having said that, I think you had a good time, at least I hope you did. You really weren’t interested in any of the rides, except for one, a roller coaster. For some reason you really wanted to go on that and you screamed like a good coaster rider is suppose to. You had no interest in the It’s a Small World ride, until you were in the little boat looking at all the waving dolls who were singing a song that was stuck in my head the rest of the day. You met the Princesses, none of whom have mothers, because Disney has killed them all off and all are enslaved until their prince charming comes to save them. I don’t want to burst your bubble, but it just doesn’t happen that way. You met Tinkerbell, whom you adore and now have a Tinkerbell snowglobe to go along with your Tinkerbell pillow, Tinkerbell movie and your Tinkerbell ornament. You also loved Minnie Mouse and her little house. You could have stayed in there the entire day and were in there almost long enough to start giving tours of the rooms.
Most of our days were spent walking around the park, just taking in the sights, dreaming of the next time we come when you’ll be older and hopefully wanting to go on more of the rides. I don’t think you’re hard wired for dangerous behavior but we do hope you’ll enjoy going on more of them, when you’re not as afraid of loud noises and not as apprehensive to give things a try.
I loved watching you. I loved watching your face light up when you saw a familiar character and I loved how you gave big hugs to them all. I loved how you were so excited to pick out some Disneyland ears of which you picked out pink Minnie Ears and how you wanted to wear them the rest of the trip. I loved how we got to sit in our hotel room and watch fireworks and loved when you went to sleep that night you told me you were going to dream of fireworks in our favorite colors.
I hope your dreams came true that night and always come true, as long as it doesn’t involve a Prince coming to your rescue.

Very nice.
Adorable picture!
What a beautiful letter! You're daughter is very lucky, when she grows up and wants to read that letter again all she has to do is read your blog.
I LOVE THIS!!!
Awww, so sweet! Glad the visit to Disneyland was so wonderful!
Oh.My.God. How cute is TLM?! You reminded me of taking my then 4 yr old son to Orlando and I swear the Disney folk were going to call security on him for stalking those characters within an inch of their furry little lives.
In spite of the bogus prince rescue plan and alarmingly high death count of female parental units, it still does a mother good to see her child's face light up. Loved this post.
Hee! I love your last line. I struggle between embracing and avoiding the Princesses. It's a balancing act.
so sweet. and again reminds me that it may be time soon to wrap up Miz and get back to blogging for MY little miss.
Such a cute pic and a nice letter. You're such a great mom!
That was so beautiful! I seriously think these experiences are just as much about us as they are our kids. Carrying these memories in our hearts forever......blessings that only a parent can truly feel!!
I love the letter to Little Miss, I wish I would have thought about that when my daughter was young.
