Oh Help Me...

This is why The Husband-to-Be's shouldn't get involved in planning a wedding.

Gigi you were right about other outrageous requests. From the bride this morning...

So, in terms of the dresses... Mr. Wonderful is concerned that the quality of the Ebay dresses might not be great. Have you ever ordered from them? He suggested that we could take a run down to the mall to a couple of stores his mom suggested and look at the dresses this weekend. He's willing to drive us around, so that's good. What do you think?

I seriously, think I need to up my blood pressure medication, fast before someone gets hurt. Really hurt.

And an update. I did tell The Bride not to expect The Little Miss to walk down the aisle, but now her new job is to help hand out programs. So, The Bride is still determined to find something for her to wear.

Although I am still shaking from reading that email about the dress this morning, I want to thank you all for listening to my rants, I can't tell you how much it helps me just process the absurdity of the situation. I just wish we were all together, so I could buy you a cocktail and thank you in person.

Yikes! You're right--the groom should not be involved in this task.

Having been in 7 weddings as a Bridesmaid, I have dealt with just about all of these same situations!! And oh did I mention I am officially retiring as a bridesmaid??? NO MORE BRIDZILLAS!!! lol Good luck and remember to breathe deeply!! :)

I agree with Asianmommy, YIKES! He should stay out of the planning. And as for the cocktail, I think you need it worse then we do. Good luck with the dress, hope they don't drive you insane.

Cheers! I think weddings can seriously harm friendships... Not so much over here, because we don't overdo everything to the nth degree!

I wouldn't be surprised if the bride is making that stuff up about the groom caring what you wear. She's a bridezilla, so I wouldn't put it past her to use the groom to get you to wear another dress.

Don't give in and do what' best for you, good luck!

I was just about to post what H.K. wrote! It's not the groom's idea, it's the bride's. Although I'm sure he play along like it's his, anything to please his bride.

I knew a bride to be like this many years ago. She was a nightmare. After her wedding when other friends were getting married she complained about them and their bridezilla ways!

You've been under more than enough real stress lately without this.

I'd just tell bridezilla that you've already bought your daughter's dress. Period. No excuses or elaboration. You've been through enough already!

I would tell her that I didn't have the money and/or time to buy her a new dress but I am sure that would make an excellent gift for her so she is a size ?? and don't forget her tiara!

I hate it when I'm right about things like this.

I think you should say the dress has already been purchased (and oh sorry, no returns allowed) and TLM is very attached to it and will turn the f-ing programs into confetti if not allowed to wear it. Let Mr. & Mrs. Wonderful white-knuckle it for a change instead of you and the other poor wedding party members.

I will throw back a few (Poland Spring water, that is) in your honor tonight after mowing the lawn. Cheers!

maybe we should all come and crash the wedding? :) I will miss the stories but I will be happy for you when this is all over!

You are really having to deal with a bunch. I'm the kind of person that would flat out say, "if you are paying for them as well as driving us around to find them then by all means, you have a say." But if BOTH of those items are not satisfied...then keep your nose out of it!

Oh you poor thing! Do you think this friendship will survive the wedding? If not, then perhaps you just bow out completely... Glad my bridesmaid days seem to be behind me. And I promise to be EASY if I ever meet mister right!
