During my days, I always think of really great things to blog about. I find myself in a narrative of, “I totally need to remember that so I can blog about it.” But, when the time comes my mind often come up blank, like right now. Do you keep a mental list of things to write about, do you write them down or do you, like me just start writing when you sit down to post? I’m really trying to find a way that would be easy for me keep my, seemingly great, ideas at hand so I actually have something of substance to tell the world about.
On another note, we don’t have any water in the building today so no drinking water and no going to the bathroom. I think there’s a lot of people that will be taking early lunches today.
And on the wedding front, I got this from The Bride when I asked how things were going:
Omigod.. He's driving me crazy. Fighting about everything.
Why am I not surprised?

I have trouble with keeping track of my blog topics. I just started writing all of my ideas done on a sticky pad on my desk. It seems to be helping.
Ohhh yeah, I've thought of some of the best things to post about..only to have them 'poof' and be gone from my mind!
NO water at work??? That is horrendous!!!!! Just the suggestion of no bathroom would make me need to go!
I do make notes on my blackberry when I think about a topic I want to blog about. But usually, I don't feel like those topics so just post about whatever is on my mind at that moment.
A notepad or a photographic memory! I have neither! I completely can relate! Ugh! :)
I'm just the same, I have moments of pure inspiration throughout the day but don't think to note them down (or even if do note down the topic I forget what I'd found so fascinating or engaging) so I've generally completely forgotten by the time I get to my laptop.
Planning a wedding can be huge, I know for us it was among the hardest things we've gone through as a couple. We've had close friends set out on this route and never make it down the aisle. Might be a good make or break for her, you never know - they could come out with some issues resolved for the better or she may decide it's not for her. Hang in there, it sounds like you're being a great friend for her.
I write myself notes; either I DM my private twitter account if I'm on my phone or I open my blog editor up if I'm near my computer and write a title and a few lines and then save it as a draft.
As a matter of fact, I have several entries in the works that I just haven't finished yet at any given time, just waiting for a good opportunity to use them!
Eeek on the no water at work. What a pain!
Were you just reading my mind? I'm so very clever until I sit down at my computer and the thoughts simply evaporate. However, paper and pencil occasionally work for me but believe it or not, my train of thought often leaves the tracks even as I'm just about to write it down! Note to self: skip the decaf.
I get some of my best ideas while commenting on other blogs... my brilliance simply astounds me sometimes. (Removes tongue from cheek)
I do keep a little list in a Word document with some ideas. My problem is usually that I have too much to say (must be because I'm on my own so much). And often I sit down to write a post about a certain thing and it develops into something completely different.
Well, at least you can drink bottled water, but going to the loo is a huge problem. I'd go home... I'm a bit religious about bathroom facilities!
uh oh with the bride... maybe she'll be rethinking the whole situation?
That sucks about the water! With blogging, I tend to just sit down and write. But when I go for a walk I usually turn ideas over in my head, and if I do get an idea for a blog post that I want to explore I have a document that I write them down in. Also helps if I run out of ideas to just go to that document and pick one of the topics!
I keep paper with me and jot down random thoughts or I write on the first thing I find. I have blog notes written on reciepts and bills.
I do two things to help me remember: I keep a little notepad in my purse for random thoughts. I have also used twitter to remind myself of something I want to say more about later.
I'm not sure how I found you, but Im glad I did!
I text them to myself...or rather make a text and put in the saved folder. But I also think og things at the office and just email them to my home address for later.
Good luck with that water thing.. thats going to suck big time.
