I Need a Nose Job

I’m still fighting this cold which has really put a kink into my new C25K workout program. I was groovin’ through the first week of it and in a nice little routine when, bam! Throw me a cold. The trick now, is to maintain that momentum and get back with it as soon as I can manage to breathe. Right now, I’m still so stuffed up and want only to sleep it’s a rather pitiful picture.

I have somehow managed to drag myself to work because, why in the world would I want to use my sick days when I’m really sick when I can use them as extra vacation days? Yes, there is that whole thing about infecting other people in the office but really, I sit in a cube for 4 hours, talk to no one since all we do these days is email so no one else can hear our conversations. Our boss sits within ear shot so if we are quietly typing away it gives the appearance of the perfect, good, hard working staff that we really are. I also sit with my window open so fresh air is wafting through and I think I’m beyond the going-to-infect-anyone stage right now.

If anyone has any experience in removing noses so I can drain my sinuses and then replacing it, please, oh please let me know.

Have you ever tried a sinus rinse? Not the most pleasant thing, but it does help.

Nothing like a good old cold to ruin your flow!! Bummer!

Hope you get to feeling better!

That always happens to me! I get into the swing of things with my exercise plan and the next thing you know I have a cold. Drink plenty of water, so that all the gunk can be flushed out quicker. Good luck! This too shall pass...

I've had a lifetime of sinus infections, allergies, colds, and the dreaded flu. But last year I got a neti pot, just a cheap plastic one at Walgreen's, and the little packets of medicated rinse. Oh, I just LOVE it, and it has really made a difference in all my sniffling and sneezing. When I did get the flu this year, using the neti pot twice a day actually cut my "sick time" in half from previous years.

Plus, I find the warm water very soothing, and I use it regularly to clean out the every day dirt, dust, pollen, and pollution that gets trapped in your nose. It feels weird the first time you use it, but once you get over that, you will actually look forward to using it. Trust me!

Hope you get feeling better fast.

Do try to get extra sleep if you aren't going to take time off work. Don't worry about the C25K until you are better, there is no hurry!

Nothing quite like getting sick to throw a spanner in your routine. I've got one too, and I'm hanging out to get back to the gym before I lose my momentum.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hubby does the sinus rinse and swears by it - but I always make sure I'm in another part of the house when it happens.

Use sick time when you're actually sick? Never heard of such a thing. But I do hope you're better soon.

I came here to suggest a sinus rinse/netipot. I've never used them but I've heard nothing but great things about them... and it seems I was too late and you already got all of that!

I hope you feel better soon :)
