This is How to Lose Weight

So yesterday after work I did as I said I would. I headed down to my local Walgreen’s and bought a neti pot. Took it home, read the instructions and filled it up. What happened next was just very strange. Basically you tilt your head to one side and pour the water in one nostril which fills up your sinuses and drains out the other side. Yeah, weird. Augh. A couple of hints, if you are planning on trying this, make sure you have some tissue handy so you don’t have to run around the house looking for something to blow your nose in while the excess water is dripping out. And also, remember to breathe out of your mouth. This is very very important. OK, so I did one side and then the next and as much as I wanted to say this was a total waste of time, it works. Totally works. Very brightly colored stuff came out my nose. I can breathe. And when I stepped on the scale this morning I was down 2 pounds. Who knew mucus weighed so much?

I have been grossly fascinated by the neti pot! I have terrible allergies but haven't yet screwed up the courage to try it. Hmmm.

brightly coloured stuff eh?

awesome! haha, I'm totally going to try it the next sinus infection I have (which I hope won't be for a long, long time)

I also recently got a neti pot...but it must not be a special one because it didn't make me lose weight! no fair!!
It is a VERY peculiar feeling, isn't it??

i am glad that it worked!! It sounds a little gross, but if it works.....go with it!

Mucus really does weigh a lot! That's one of the reasons why people who ditch gluten and dairy (the two most mucus-forming substances we eat) lose weight so quickly!

We use something like the neti pot too..It's called Sinu-cleanse, I think. It feels a little weird, huh?! But it really cleans you out. So funny about the 2lbs/mucus..hahaha. Love the signature!Yay for the loss.

When I use it nothing comes out but water! Maybe that's a good thing ;)

I need to get back to using it especially since my allergies are pretty bad this year.

2 lbs? I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Wish they had something similar for all the junk in my head - in one ear, out the other.

Glad it worked and you're feeling better. AND you lost 2 lbs!

Glad you tried it. Yes, I keep a hot washcloth at the ready to wipe down with. I should have mentioned that part...

Huh? Sounds insane... I'm congested like mad right now (I've had the mumps for like 5 weeks and they don't seem to be going anywhere). You reckon I could get away with using a watering can? lol :)

I really could use a 2 lb loss myself this week. Walgreens you said?

Haha! I just used a mini tea pot w/ 1 tsp salt and room temp water. Interesting sensation. Was fighting back the urge to breathe thru my nose!I didn't see anything coming out though... feel ok now. Congestion kinda' relieved... interesting lol
